Rory Root - RIP

I just found out that Rory Root passed away.

Rory was the owner of the COMIC RELIEF store in Berkley, California. A store I've never visited, yet always wanted to. Rory was one of the greatest advocates of comics as a business, and an art form.

He was a regular at ComicCon International in San Diego each year and the COMIC RELIEF booth was always a must stop for me.

At one point when I was mental enough to be seriously considering opening a comics store he spent a couple of hours of his valuable time at SDCC going over my business plan, and giving me great advice on the realities of life as a comics retailer.

He will be missed and San Diego will never be quite the same again.
